Post Carving out a career in football

Hi everyone, i'm new to this forum.i registered here in hopes that someone can help me out.

As with the title, i hope to have a career in football,nt only because i love this sport, but also because i couldn't come up with other careers that i've liked or had an interest in so far, and I don't want to be stuck with a job that i do not enjoy in the future.(I also have a little hate for studying, so i wanted footballing career, though O levels are coming up) So far, I do not see football players starting careers at my age (16), they start much younger, so i decided to post here for some help instead of wasting more of my passing days.

Heres the thing: I have not learnt any basics of this game.( I can still understand the plays made in matches that i watch on tv instead of watching randomly without understanding) In primary school and currently, my CCA is not soccer. During the primary school days I had no clear picture of my future, so i didn't pursue any footballing career. My secondary school sucked, had no soccer cca at all. Hence I did not learn a thing bout soccer. Nothing about where to run, positioning and stuff. It was almost liked i knew nothing.I told myself to create space for passing, thats all, thats how i played with friends.

Now I hope u guys can answer my questions:

(1a) Is it too late (at my age of 16) to be only starting to learn basics?
(1b) Can I even go on to carve out a career or is this an unrealistic dream?

if there's still enough time to start from scratch AND be professional enough to forge a career (which i hope), continue with the below questions..

(2a)Where can I find places/clubs/etc. which offer basic training from scratch,*AND* actually helps me get into professional playing clubs? (instead of those trials, where i must know my playing styles and basics, etc., or those useless courses which only give enjoyment, teach u tips and tricks and techniques and skills, but does not actually promote such people to play for top clubs )
(2b)Just wondering, does JSSL Arsenal actually qualify for Qn 2a? (cause I'm an arsenal fan, so if it does meet the criteria of Qn 2a den i will be going for the U18 courses)

I want to try to start early, so I hope you guys will provide me with lots of much needed advice...huge thanks to those who does =)

err clubs don't provide training from scratch, esp for a 16 year old.

16 year old without basic skills. i'd say it's too late, to be a professional.

Well if you're talented and naturally skilled, start practising now. I don't think it'll be too late. I've known late bloomers in this game. Good luck. No harm trying. Don't have any regrets.

Nope its not too late to be a footballer at your age in Singapore. Look at the National Team, some of them don't have good basics too.

Best for you is to find some khakis to play football every week while you're still studying for O Levels. During this time, learn the basics yourself.

Find a wall and try to hit the same spots over and over again. Thats how you learn to kick the ball, pass the ball to others and shoot at goal on your own.

Look at how others play. Ask them to help you with techniques and skill if necessary.

Head down to your nearest street soccer courts. Street soccer games improve your ball control.

    Good luck.

From what I know, it depends on the JC. With DSA in place, sometimes there are lesser spots for those that do not possess any background in the sport during their Primary or Secondary School time.

Nonetheless, it would be recommended to try and sign up for a soccer CCA so that you will be able to gain consistent exposure to the sport, with some level of guidance as well.

go ghetto, man... hit the "football slums" in street soccer... throw yourself into deep waters, and learn to float and swim yourself... play everyday since you're only starting now...

Chong Pang, Tampines, Marine Parade or Woodlands courts... they know no mercy... they play hard, dirty, fast and skillful. you will fall, but you have to pick yourself up and never give up...

You can try at home too, actually. For close control training, try dribbling around furniture like dining tables, bed legs, etc..
