    Default AFC U-14 Championship Qualifiers



    Singapore boys are grouped in Group F with Thailand, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Laos and Indonesia for the qualifiers to be held in Myanmar.

    The matches started yesterday and the boys being the journey with a 3-1 win over Laos last night.

    Fixtures
    28/5 - vs. Laos 3-1
    29/5 - vs. Thailand
    31/5 - vs. Indonesia
    2/6 - vs. Bangladesh
    3/6 - vs. Cambodia

    What is at stake is that the top two teams from each zone, totalling eight teams, will qualify to the AFC U-14 Championship 2014 Finals.

    To refresh, the qualifier groups are as follow:
    Group A: Oman (hosts), Bahrain, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and UAE.
    Group B: Saudi Arabia (hosts), Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan, Palestine and Yemen.
    Group C: Nepal (hosts), Bhutan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Maldives and Afghanistan.
    Group D: Iran (hosts), Pakistan, India, Turkmenistan, Sri Lanka and Kyrgyzstan.
    Group E: Myanmar (hosts), Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines and Timor Leste.
    Group F: Thailand, Laos, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Singapore and Cambodia.
    Group G: China (hosts), Northern Mariana Islands, Korea Republic, Chinese Taipei and Guam.
    Group H: Mongolia, Hong Kong, DPR Korea, Macau and Japan.

    The boys lost 2-0 to Thailand in the match earlier this evening..

    Isn't this a under 16 and not under 14 tournament? Just 2 months away, any news of the line up? Malaysia is treating this tournament seriously as a tune up to qualify for the Asia under 16 in Thailand next year. Don't FAS have the same ambition? Would be a waste when we seem to have quite a few talented youngsters.

    Seem quite talented to us, but when compared to the region, not good. Think we went out in the group stage, and our level is around minnows, we drew with Bangledesh, think we lost to Laos.

    Therefore, as I often said, the future is bleak.

    Sorry Hessian. I think I hv posted in wrong thread. This AFF U16 is in August and there is a dedicated thread on this tournament. The U16 did performed well in LCC and we got Fandi boys.
