    Default Korean Coach/Players in S-league

This year's S-League has brought in as many as 10 South Korean players playing with as many as 6 teams.

The majority of these Korean players have great technical abilities and many seem to fit into out system without much problem.

Some of them have played first team football in K-League where this year, as many as 4 Korean teams have made in into the AFC Champions League QF.

It's an amazing nation from war-torn in the 1940-50's where she had to borrow money to survive but now the fruits of those hardships in less than half a century later to have the Koreans hand out $$$ in return to World Society.

The transformation of Home United where the creme-de-la-cream Peres was outbooted, together with the inept Sivaji of last year to the current squad of players challenging for major honours.

From a "Nobody Nobody" status in the initial weeks of 2010 S-League campaign, we are now beginning to see the many colourful players which Home United display in it's present games.

First team Coach Paul Lee, has brought along his experience from K-League and with his new charges, capture alot of vivid displays and performances over the past 8-9 games.

The results are beginning to show.

If SAF had disposed of 3 season campaigners in Kenji, Therdsak and Duric during the close season. Home had similarly left out Peres, Kengne and San already in the initial S-League campaign.

The job of Lee to gel the team would be tougher as compared to Richard Bok but once the dust is settled, we now know who the Real McCoy is.

Lee is an excellent coach that does not give a hoot about reputation and along with the current Prime League table toppers, some players are constantly being changed and played in different roles to accommodate his style.

I hope this is something Raddy can take a point or two.

The Korean players from Home United have also displayed a standard of high quality.

We have witness the rise of Super Reds(squad made entirely of Korean players), in it's inception year finishing runners-up in the narrowest of margin to SAF. I hope the S-League committee can reconsider this option of admitting them again.

Overall I am very impressed with all the Korean's players plying their livelihood on our shores.

Actually, it's the FAS technical director who can learn more from this. There's only so much Raddy can do from the players he get, because he only has limited time with them. You can see Lee had to spend extensive time before he could turn things around.

Lee basically saw what ails Singapore players in general, non-professionalism and laziness, which runs directly with the south korean philosophy is general (not only in football, but in life). He basically got a shock when he saw the state of the club, but instead of giving up, he went about it with typical korean gusto. He had to scream at players, because he probably was incest by the attitude of the Singapore players compared to back home. The more senior ones basically rebelled, especially when someone just came and spoil their good life here.

Football have changed since the "kampong" days, but Singapore did not progress like the east asian or west asian nations. Richard Bok dreamed at the start of the season to play the move-and-pass style of j-league teams. But he did not realise that without professionalism to train hard, and able to last throughout a game at a high pace, it cannot be done.

What Lee did was not magic, he did not conceive mind-boggling tactics or strategy. He only got his team to train and like real professionals.
And that is the basic to save SIngapore football.

    Agree with you~

I actually wanted to create a thread abt the significant influence of the Koreans on the Sleague recently but looks like AJAJAJAJ pipped me to it~ haha

Glad to see the legacy of Korean-Yishun Super Reds making positive impact in the Sleague~

He should take over from the YOG team starting next year. And see them through the next 2 or 3 years.

If Raddy were to resign from his current post, i feel Lee should take over the NT coach.

I think Lee can do more as the technical director.

i agree with all of you~

i think we can get more out of our players if Lee takes over. He seemed to understand the kindda style of football Singaporeans plays (and suits) thus enabling better football and result.

It would probably take another season or so before this could happen though; based on how Home Utd perform this and next season~
