Re: [Friendly] SAFFC - AIK
Cool!
My own team AIK (ex member and sesson ticket holder) comes to my new home Singapore. I love it.
After watching S-league for several years I always wondered what if AIK would play a S-league team. Now I will get the answer.....
To give you guys some background information about AIK:
Official homepage: www.aik.se - Officiell Webbplats för Allmänna Idrottsklubben (also in English)
AIK followers are a) many, b) crazy and c) known as "gnagare" which means rodents!
Club founded 1891. Won the double last sesson for the first time ever.
Personally I saw AIK play Barcelona 93 and 97 in the European Cup Winners Cup. Met Parma 91. We played in the group of death in Champions league 99 AIK, Fiorentina (That was back in the days when Maldini was young and Italian team where really good), Arsenal, and Barcelone (again). I will never forget when we tock the lead on Wembley against Arsenal.
See you there.

Re: [Friendly] SAFFC - AIK
Welcome, Ulfnor. Good to see an AIK fan here. It would be interesting to see how SAFFC and AIK match up.

Re: [Friendly] SAFFC - AIK
Any news about where the game will be played? Or where the AIK team is practicing?
Why no press coverage lah? hype was much bigger when L'pool was in town leh. strange huh
My impression about Sandberg: A typical all-round Swedish player. He will run, fight and avoid mistakes and will definitely beef up the defense against a superior opponent in AFC. But he is no playmaker and he will not make a big difference against less skilled opponents (like WWFC I'm sorry to say). He is simply better without the ball than with. Physically he will probably be one of the best defensive player in the league.
When he moved from Sweden to get more cash in Romania/Norway he probably had 30 players in front of him in the national team. He got a few games in the national team since only players from Scandinavia is traditionally used for the new year national team friendlies. If players from the bigger leagues (spain/italy/epl/holland) would have been used he would not have been selected.
But he seems like a nice guy who work hard and efficiently in defensive situations and who has a decent passing and header game. I wish him all the best
Tonight I'm going to National Stadium. Are you?

Re: [Friendly] SAFFC - AIK
I am interested in this SAFFC-AIK friendly. Glad to see an European side (and a top side too) coming here genuinely interested in playing football not money. A club-club friendly seems a good indication of that!
