agreed.. for those who label nas as ungrateful probably haven watch a sleague game in their lives or totally dont know anything about singapore football.
and those who question the timing.. he said the last straw was when teo hock seng got banned.. and the attendance and refereeing was getting worse.. so all these are actually quite recent events..

No longer an avid S-League fan
another chicken and egg problem which has been discussed umpteen times.I was an avid S-League fan. But a dismal display of football by the players and pathetic crowd turnouts turned me off.

haiyaaa....one of the reasons why i'm not as active in the forum now as i used to be is that i keep getting frustrated saying the same things over and over again... and again... and again...
now NAS slams the football in this country and suddenly everyone's taking notice. And all they do is question this, question that. they don't realize that the only way to get the FAS to actually take action is by going public.
And for once...the FAS should really start running the S-league like an actual football league not a company

Re: Alam Shah slams local football
Please ... Don't make S-League turn into EPL ...
EPL is a crap league initially. Other than United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and maybe now City, all play long balls. United won so many times cuz other teams were playing long balls and United played possession and passing football. When Arsenal changed to possession and passing football too, they become tops.
Ask yourselves why the best players want to play in Spain. That is the place where they play true football, how it is going to be played.
Why Capello change the way England play? Because other than entertaining, it works. Possession and passing football.
The S-League teams are now following the EPL way of football, fast, long balls like Bolton, Wigan. Might be entertaining when 2 teams go at each other. You know, man's fetish for blood and gore? At the end of the day, the fitter team wins.
So maybe those who like EPL way of football, might be the bigwigs because seeing how EPL is milking the money out of the world, thinks S-League is entertaining.
Think in the long run. Let us follow La Liga way of play for the future of Singapore soccer.
