Smile Will you give your ballot to a new politics party bc of sport devolopment investment?

This question pop out of my mind, after reading the newspaper today.

Ivan Tan, 40, vice president(water polo) of swimming Association said "the annual funding we request, we get less than 30 percent in the end. I'll only say that it's a six-figure sum a year. To really make a dent in Asia we have to hit at least a million dollars annually."

FAS annual budget is close to $10m, but the Japan Footbal Association is understood to operate annually with a sum around $42m.

Aren't the PAP party little bit stingy?, noting that Singapore is richest ASEAN country (not including australia).

FAS main source of money are from sponsors and not just budget allocated to it from the government. and Australia is NOT part of ASEAN.

and Similarly, JFA main source of money are from sponsors, not their government. Hard to compare us with Japan. even other top football countries like Spain, Brazil, Germany has less money than JFA, even with sponsors!

Anyway, it will have its effect. If country overall budget remains the same means you put in more money into football, you'd take away money from other sources...

FAS is considered a "small department" of Ministry Community Youth and Sports. FAS is one of the many sports bodies in SSC, SSC is is one of the many boards in MCYS. MCYS is one of the many Ministries in the government. so go figure in the end how much FAS will get...

So if country budget remains the same, unless you wanna take away money from other sports bodies or projects, or worse, from Baby Bonus or helping the community, and put it into football, we cannot just depend on government.

In the end, sports cannot depend on just government for funding because it has been proven that sports, and football in this issue, need to seek money from other sources

If I vote another "politics party" for eg WP or SDA, i don't think the budget allocation from government to sports would be any different or better...

Unless you are very keen to make Singapore the new Zimbabwae, otherwise please do more homework about our country's politics before making such irrational comments.

I dont see how bringing a new political party in charge will see a change in the situation.

Potentially digressing.

Yup, FAS need sponsors to have more capital for development. But sponsors wont invest if they cant see any visible development.

And the whole cycle reveals itself again.

i'd rather the govt spend its budget on the general citizens, improving our lives and standard of living (that's where my vote going) and FAS continues to source for more sponsors and not to be relying solely on government...

This is the best FAS team for over decades. I am still waiting for MZ to annouce the new measure.

If the results come, the money will roll.
