Would you let your child learn soccer starting between the age of 5 to 7?
I suppose the only way for Singapore to get skillful players in the future, if to
get passionate kid to learn socccer at young age.
Most of the soccer basic skill are best mastered it before the age of 12.
Look at Shunsuke Nakamura began playing football competitively at age 5, playing with the local youth club side Misono FC.
If your kids has the passion to play soccer at age of 5, would you let him?Last edited by Harrylau; 22-11-2009 at 03:42 PM.

If I have a child, I will let him play whatever he wants until age 11 ... At 11, he should more or less know what he wants already ...

Rather then to specialize at a particular sport, from the age of 5-7, it would be better to introduce ur child to a wide spectre of sports.
1. Kids get bored quickly and learn fast, introducing them to a wide range of sport would keep them connected.
2. A better all round motor development from participating in most sports.
3. Encouraging ur child to TRY everything. Reducing their reluctantness to take part in something, just because they are not used to it.
4. It's all about having fun at that age!

When I have a kid and my kid is a boy... the minute he can walk.. I'll throw a ball at him and see what he does with it...
