AYG Tournament
Football Asia (Espn, star sports) has this segment on Singapore AYG and YOG team in this week's segment. Thought u guys might wanna check this out. Talks abt their preparations for the tournament and their thoughts. Head Coach is David Sivalingam. (Not too good of a impression from the interviews). They currently have a squad of 30 from the selection trials earlier in the year and have training daily at the Sports School. Each sunday, they have a match in the COE U-16 tournament, so they are playing against players two years their senior. Anyway, the captain is Jeffrey Adam Lightfoot (from tampines rovers academy).

Re: AYG Tournament
Yeah if he does manage to make a good impression then we would know if have a real gem on our hands.
"It reminds me of stale bean soup, of college yells, of dogs barking idiotically through endless nights. It is so bad that a sort of grandeur creeps into it. It drags itself out of the dark abysm of pish, and crawls insanely up the topmost pinnacle of posh. It is rumble and bumble. It is flap and doodle. It is balder and dash." H L Mencken

Re: AYG Tournament
I think that he's not called up because there's a huge difference in gap between the skill level and the size of children in different age group, even if its like 1 or 2 yrs difference. It's unlike the senior team where 1 or 2 yrs difference will not make alot of difference

Re: AYG Tournament
yeah i watched the 6 or 7 min plus feature on this week's edition of Football Asia, good that the young Lions' preparation for the upcoming AYG is featured. And the captain, Jeffrey Adam Lightfoot, is a potential pin-up boy for local football considering his looks. Hopefully he matches his skills to his looks!

Near sellout for Asian Youth Games opening ceremony
THERE are 47 days to go to the opening ceremony of the first Asian Youth Games and ticket sales for the event at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on June 29 are almost sold out.
Out of the 6,200 seats available for the opening ceremony, 1,200 tickets were allocated for sale and the Singapore Sports Council (SSC) revealed yesterday almost all have been snapped up.
