And earlier, striker Sarayud Chaikamdee (or Chaikumdee?) was axed from the Asian Cup squad as the coach wasn't pleased with his displays during the German tour.

Actually, the league is going on during the Asian Cup, so they will have to miss the league games for a couple of weeks - longer if they make it into the quarterfinals.

In front of close to 20,000 ardent supporters, Thailand made sure of their win over their rivals from the Middle East with goals from Tawan Sripan and Sutee Suksomkit.

Thailand best midfield line up in the past decade.

Therdsak Jaiman, Datsakon Thonglao, Tawan Sripan, Nirut Surasiang

With experience forwards Kiatisuk , Sutee.

Can't wait to see how they can match up with the middleeastern players.
