Thanks guys. Unfortunately, Myanmar lost 0-5 to North Korea in semis.

They also lost 0-1 to Tajikistan in third-place playoff although they did attack well in the second half.

Hey, I'm a 15 year old Burmese kid that lives in England, I don't really get a chance to watch Myanmar play, but I would love to play for them if I had the chance, and I am pretty serious about this, does anyone on this forum know how or where footballers get scouted to play for the international team? I would go to great lengths to try and get at least a tryout for a Burmese club at least, I'd even move if my parents allowed it lol

I don't really know how to tryout for a Burmese club. Since there is no oversea myanmarnese player, they only scout in MNL( Myanmar National League ) for National team players... But if u loves to tryout for Myanmarnese club, you may know a bit information abt Myanmar football club below this link.

Zeyar Shwe Myay FC has signed 2 South Korean players, 2 Swedish players, and 1 Serbian defender, for 2010 MNL season. The 2 South Korean players become the first foreign Asian players in MNL (as far as I know).

Zeyarshwemyay fc has signed foreign players

You might want to contact Yangon United. Or Yadanarbon FC. The thing is, as you're 15, you might end up being in the youth team and might not turn full professional (with salary) straight away. Yangon has a developed youth football academy. Although what matters is football and money, for a beginning youth team player who's to study (without parents, I assume? unless they're moving with you) you might want to continue England lifestyle in international schools or neighborhoods, so you might wanna consider living in Yangon, Nay Pyi Daw or Mandalay.

Wow nobody updated.

MNL 2010 season started. First round of games ended.

Zeyar Shwe Myay FC got a 3-0 away win against champions Yadanarbon. With Swedish Alexander, Korean Kim Kyu Jun and Burmese Kyaw Zin Win scoring.

Two Koreans from K-League team Incheon United (5th in K-League 2009) are in Zeyar Shwe Myay FC. I'm sorry I'm a little lazy to get all these names in detail. It takes a lot of diggings to do so. No matter they were or were not used at Incheon or bench warmers, they should still be pretty good. Korean football has great depth.

Meanwhile PN Sivaji's Okkthar United got a 1-0 away win over new club Manaw Myay FC.

The big match of the round is Kanbawza vs Yangon United and former Selangor coach Ken Worden, currently Southern Myanmar FC's coach, has full of praise for Kanbawza FC after watching the latter's 0-0 home draw against Yangon Utd.

Brief translation from his press conference on soccermyanmar.com, translated by my friend.

"I've watched Kanbawza vs Yangon Utd. Although Kanbawza does not have any foreign players, the way they played was very impressive. It was like watching Real Madrid for a second or two. The change in their management and coaching departments improved them a lot and I'm happy for them. If every team in MNL could produce the form that Kanbawza did against Yangon, Myanmar football would improve greatly. My Southern Myanmar FC team tried to reach their standards but it'd be a while before we get there. But we played a good game.

Our training ground is not structured well so we couldn't practice our football effectively. And my foreign players have not gel, but getting a win before the team find their form is a good start indeed."

?????? ????? ?????????? ????????? ?????? ??????????? ????????? ??????? | Myanmar Football News Portal - SoccerMyanmar.com

All results:

Yadanarbon 0-3 Zeyar Shwe Myay
Kanbawza 0-0 Yangon Utd
Manaw Myay 0-1 Okkthar Utd
Zwekapin Utd 0-2 Magway
Nay Pyi Daw 1-2 Southern Myanmar

Delta United sits the odd ball out in first week of MNL 2010.

Zeyar Shwe Myay 1-0 Yangon Utd
Ye Wai Yan Soe 74'

Zeyar Shwe Myay leads table with 9 points, 3 wins in 3 games. Defeating both Yangon and Yadanarbon. The two Swedish, Korean and another foreign are working well, as well as the coach, he's good. Local players are performing too.

Zeyar Shew Myay's coach Stefan Hansson is happy with the defence, while Yangon's Peter Butler is content with the team's display despite the loss.

Okkthar United 0-1 Southern Myanmar

It's Ken Worden's second victory in 3 games and P.N Sivaji's second loss in 3 games. Not the latter's fault, as both managers are managing two of the smaller teams in the league. So kudos to them for doing so. They are adventurous and open-minded. Better than looking for safety by managing only top teams. Ken Worden is happy with Southern Myanmar (STMM)'s fighting spirit.
